Véronique Tadjo interviewed for Sumuama

'Shortly before COVID-19, there was a chillingly lethal epidemic in Africa about which there is almost no literature, beyond scientific literature and newspapers. It was caused by Ebola. They also blamed its origin on a bat. Roads, cities, countries were closed… Véronique Tadjo wanted to write about this. Although born in Paris (1961), Tadjo grew up in Côte d’Ivoire, a country which was not hit directly by Ebola, but which adapted to the measures taken in surrounding countries.'

The Darkness of Colours wins GLLI 2025 prize

We are pleased to announce that The Darkness of Colours by Martín Blasco, translated by Claire Storey, has won the GLLI Translated Young Adult Book Prize 2025. 

The Global Literature in Libraries Initiative's prize aims to recognise publishers, translators, and authors of books in English translation for young adult readers, and we're thrilled that Claire Storey's translation from the original Spanish has won this years prize.
