'Shortly before COVID-19, there was a chillingly lethal epidemic in Africa about which there is almost no literature, beyond scientific literature and newspapers. It was caused by Ebola. They also blamed its origin on a bat. Roads, cities, countries were closed… Véronique Tadjo wanted to write about this. Although born in Paris (1961), Tadjo grew up in Côte d’Ivoire, a country which was not hit directly by Ebola, but which adapted to the measures taken in surrounding countries.'
