'A Woman I Admire' writing competition celebrates women's achievements in the centenary year of them winning the vote, and marks International Women's Day.

'The winner, Bridget Blankley, wrote about Dame Caroline Haslett, 1895 - 1957, an engineer, suffragette and pioneering campaigner for women's rights. Bridget benefited personally from the Caroline Haslett Memorial Trust as an engineering student.'

'Bridget only took up writing a few years ago. Her first book The Ghosts and Jamal, a children's story, will be published on 23 March 2018.'
